She comes in colours

Microsoft Office 2007 has been tooled up with a tasteful "theme" palette (left) that leaves some of the brash technicolour behind (but still present with the doleful tag of "standard colours").

Colour is an essential component of any brand, especially an online brand.  These colour resources are pretty good, if that's what rocks your boat:

We like its neat "selling the product" touch to re-colour the site on the fly.  Fresh flavours indeed.

This looks like it was spawned by much of the design investment in the Longhorn project team and the main end products we now see in Windows Vista (the translucent aero user interface) and Microsoft Office 2007 (UI innovations such as ribbons and intelligent mini toolbars).  Maybe they have also humanely put down the animated dog that offers cute tips like "Microsoft Word crashed.  Do you want me to clear up the mess or just shut down this f**kin' PC?"
