>  How to write a "new economy" or business 2.0 book...

Richard Jones, iMagineer-in-Chief //  23 November 2006

Some early scribblings on this comedy topic.  It is just soooo easy for these books to wind people up.  Surely the secret is never to take them too seriously, and just accept that they are bound to make one or two good points along the way?  Anyway, starter for ten:

  1. The enigmatic subtitle.  "Why walking backwards into donkeys beats swallowing dominoes ... every time"

  2. Make it apocalyptic.

  3. Evangelise.  "You realise you are the only left who just doesn't get it, don't you, you dumb schmuck?"

  4. One idea, extemporised to within an inch of its life.

  5. The last word - isn't is obvious?

  6. Pick out some selective examples and over generalise.  Pick a great company, pick one of its characteristics.  That is why it is such a great success, right?  Incontrovertible.

More to come on this topic.  We're determined to give everyone a comprehensive toolkit to debunk the rockandrollimaginations.com eBook before it is even written.  Then we can make sure it lives up to expectations whatever those are.  In the meantime delve into the rockandrollimaginations.com MBA to warm yourself up.
