Lotto is new target for Million Dollar Homepage sensation

Richard Jones, iMagineer-in-Chief //  5 December 2006

"I wrote down the attributes that this idea would need: it had to be simple to understand and to set up, it had to attract a lot of media interest and it needed a good name. After I wrote them down, the idea just came to me."

So says Alex Tew (dollar millionaire ex-student now-big time MillionDollarHomepage entrepreneur) and in doing so capturing the very heart of what rockandrollimaginations.com is all about.  Bags of flair, an audacious idea, and a life changing gear shift.  New socks for life.  That university course he set the site up to fund?  Er, looks like he is just going to quietly forget that now.  An outrageous fraud and misrepresentation lad!

His new venture is in a similar vein - more pixels for sale but this time visitors can potentially win a share of all that cash he hopes to make.  50% of all revenue in fact - with "entries" being free for clicking on the featured ads (up to ten clicks a day).  Pixels are now $2 a pop.  Doubling his prices within a year?  That's confidence for you, though you might argue that Alex Tew has justifiably earned the right to be cocky.  Will be interesting to see how quickly the ads come in, and what marketing tricks he uses to get fresh publicity.  Two sensations is a big ask, and you might ask "so what is really new here?"

By odd coincidence the iMagineers been working up an idea that draws on the same theme of revenue re-distribution, including a charitable angle.  I am sure we are not the only ones.  It is a natural extension of the social networking community concept - enabling those who support and foster the online community greater access to the $$$s generated through ads etc
